3D Print Expo exhibition
A great deal of 3D printing already takes place on the TU Delft campus, for research and education, by students and scientists. This exhibition brings together their work and shows the possibilities that 3D printing brings to TU Delft, both now and in the future. Event dates: 24 Nov 2014 08:00 to 19 Jan 2015 20:00 Location: Hall, TU Delft Library
3D printing at TU Delft
There are numerous enthusiastic 3D-printing initiatives ongoing at TU Delft, including research into the possibilities of 3D printing, education on 3D printing and the use of 3D printers as a tool in technical-scientific research. For this exhibition, we brought this work from the faculties to TU Delft Library so that everyone can see and share how work is carried out with 3D-printing technology at TU Delft and the possibilities it offers.
From printed 3D printers to lingerie
The exhibition consists of various samples, prototypes, models and small objects from 3D print labs within such faculties as Architecture, Industrial Design Engineering, 3mE and Aerospace Engineering. In addition, 3D printed work – from home-made printers to lingerie – will be on show that students have made out of enthusiasm or as part of TU Delft projects. Attention will also be paid in a film compilation to how 3D printing is currently being deployed in various technical and non-technical disciplines. This provides an impression of the rapid developments and innovative possibilities in the area of 3D printing throughout the world.
3D Print Week
This exhibition has been created for the TU Delft Library’s 3D Print Week
(24 to 28 November 2014), but it will continue to run at TU Delft Library for more than another month until 19 January 2015. TU Delft Library organises the 3D Print Week because it believes sharing knowledge is of paramount importance. In this context it provides the platform for experts and interested parties of subjects that are important for and useful to TU Delft to learn from each other and inspire one another.
